STT170

The Honeywell STT170 series (STT 3000 family) of programmable temperature transmitters delivers cost-effective, accurate temperature monitoring versus direct-wired sensor points. Models STT171, STT173, STT17H, and STT17F cover 4–20 mA, HART, and FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus outputs from a DIN form B headmount housing, with automatic linearization, NAMUR NE43 sensor-error response, and PC-based configuration via the STT17C tool.

Key Benefits
  • 01Increased accuracy, safety, and reliability versus direct-wired temperature sensors
  • 02Reduced wiring costs through loop-powered transmitter architecture
  • 03Automatic linearization with user-settable upper and lower range values
  • 04Programmable high/low limit alarms trigger on sensor failure
  • 05Galvanic isolation on STT173/17H/17F improves noise immunity in harsh plants
Technical Features
  • 01STT171: Analog 4–20 mA, RTD or Ohm input, DIN form B headmount
  • 02STT173: Analog 4–20 mA, RTD / T-C / Ohm / mV input, galvanic isolation
  • 03STT17H: HART / 4–20 mA, single or dual (difference/average) sensor input, HART Multidrop capable
  • 04STT17F: FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus, single or dual (difference/average/redundant), FISCO certified, Basic or LAS capability, 2 AI + 1 PID function blocks
  • 05Input types: RTD (Pt100, Ni100), Thermocouple, mV, Ohm
  • 06NAMUR NE43 compliant sensor-error response
  • 07Galvanic isolation (STT173, STT17H, STT17F)
  • 08Configuration via STT17C PC tool or HART field communicator
  • 09DIN form B headmount housing for direct sensor mounting
  • 10Automatic temperature linearization for the user-defined range
Applications
  • Cost-effective replacement of direct-wired temperature monitoring
  • General process and utility temperature monitoring
  • HART Multidrop installations (STT17H)
  • FOUNDATION Fieldbus segments with redundant sensors (STT17F)
  • Retrofit projects consolidating RTD/TC/mV/Ohm signals onto a single transmitter
