Worcester Controls CPT Characterized Seat Control Valve
The Flowserve Worcester Controls CPT is a characterized-seat ball control valve engineered for severe throttling services. Its sintered 316 stainless-steel seat — impregnated with TFE or graphite and laser-cut to a V-shape, slot, or custom profile — delivers precision throttling, bubble-tight shutoff exceeding ASME Class VI, and a shearing action for solids and fibers.
Key Benefits
- 01Precision high-pressure-drop control with straight-through flow
- 02Bubble-tight shutoff exceeding ASME Class VI
- 03Interchangeable characterized seats — change Cv and characteristic without replacing the valve
- 04Efficient shearing action for solids, fibers, and slurries
- 05Compact, light-weight, low-maintenance alternative to linear globe control valves
Technical Features
- 01316 sintered stainless-steel seat impregnated with TFE or graphite
- 02Laser-cut characterized seat — V-shape, slotted, or custom port geometry
- 03V-shaped port available in seven standard angles for equal-percent characteristic
- 04Bi-directional floating ball concept
- 05Six valve configurations: cryogenic 3-piece, wafer, flanged, 3-piece, anti-fugitive 3-piece, anti-fugitive flanged
- 06Size range ¼" through 4"
- 07Pressure rating: ASME Class 150, 300, and 600 depending on configuration
- 08Standard ΔP capability: 500 psi liquids, 300 psi steam
- 09Vee-Twin variant — two CPT seats in one body for staged pressure reduction and cavitation resistance
- 10Exotic seat materials: Inconel 600, Hastelloy C22, Stellite 6, Monel
- 11Clamped in-line stem with direct shaft position feedback and NAMUR interface
- 12FM oil-and-gas safety shutoff approval on CPT 44 / CPT 51 / CPT 52 with Pulsair III
- 13High-performance stem seals with rotary shaft sealing
- 14Characterized clean and cryogenic variants via Custom Products Department
